Plants and Holiday Cheer Delivered to All Allendale Community Residents
Residents of the Allendale Community for Mature Living were visited recently by a very special group of elves — employees of the Mahwah Home Depot, who delivered poinsettias and holiday cheer for everyone.
Seven of the store’s employees volunteered their time, spending nearly three hours passing out poinsettias to each and every resident. They also took photos and presented the Allendale Community with a DVD presentation — complete with musical accompaniment — containing more than 100 photos of the festive event.
The Allendale Community for Mature Living offers three levels of residency and a continuum of care on campus: The Atrium, where independent seniors enjoy Residential Living; Carlton Court, which offers Assisted Living; and The Allendale Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center, a skilled nursing facility focusing on rehabilitation.
“It was just great,” said Mary Stampleman, Director of Therapeutic Recreation & Community Relations for The Atrium. “The residents had a blast.”
The Allendale Community embraces a “neighbor-helping-neighbor” philosophy and sponsors many outreach activities. The Mahwah Home Depot’s donations are a reflection of the warmth with which the extended community has embraced the Allendale Community for Mature Living and its residents.
