Present “Butterflies in the Garden” with Rick Mikula (Owner, Hole-In-Hand Butterfly Farm)
Would you love to attract a variety of beautiful butterflies to your garden? At the next Bergen Co. Master Gardeners meeting, Rick Mikula, owner of Hole-In-Hand Butterfly Farm, author of several books, award winning columnist, radio and TV personality, lecturer, instructor, consultant and President of the International Butterfly Association, will present an informative and entertaining presentation on attracting butterflies to your garden.
Rick will share suggestions for introducing the proper plant material into your garden design and highlight the various techniques used to attract, keep and enjoy our garden friends - butterflies.
Rick is a butterfly habitat consultant to many schools, commercial businesses, museums and zoos. He has designed many live butterfly displays such as “The Butterfly Emporium” for Dolly Parton in Dollywood, The Hershey Gardens Butterfly House, Techno Ventures traveling display, and Bear Mountain Butterflies.A consultant to various endangered butterfly re-establishment projects such as The National Wild Turkey Federation and in the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica, he also conducts butterfly and botanical photography tours. The presentation will held be on Tuesday January 27, 2008 at 7:30pm, at the Community Services Building, 327 East Ridgewood Avenue in Paramus. (across from Bergen Regional Medical Center). Meetings are open to all interested gardeners, free of charge, and refreshments are served, starting at 7pm.
