RIPKEN BASEBALL CONTINUING COACHING CLINICS SERIES IN 2009

Cal Ripken Jr., Bill Ripken and John Habyan Hosting Clinics for Youth Coaches in Paramus, New Jersey

Ripken Baseball will continue their annual Ripken Coaching Clinic series in 2009 as part of National Baseball Hall of Famer, Cal Ripken, Jr.’s vision of growing the game of baseball worldwide, “The Ripken Way.” The first coaching clinic of 2009 will be held at Paramus Catholic High School in Paramus N.J. on Jan. 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (registration begins at 9 a.m.).

CAL RIPKEN JR. will lead the Ripken Coaching Clinic, along with 12-year major league veteran BILL RIPKEN and 11-year major league veteran pitcher JOHN HABYAN. A full day of curriculum geared toward pitching, hitting and fielding will be taught “The Ripken Way,” a philosophy of instruction that has evolved through years of playing, teaching and observing the game of baseball. The fundamental lessons concentrate on keeping it simple, making it fun and celebrating the individual.

"We have always believed that the most efficient way to extend our message about teaching the game of baseball is through coaches and parents," says Cal Ripken, Jr.

Ripken Baseball's clinics have become increasingly popular and respected as one of the best baseball coaching forums in the nation. They are designed for coaches, parents or anyone interested in expanding his/her baseball knowledge and learning effective ways to teach the game. The clinics are structured to provide relevant information to coaches and parents of players of all ages and skill levels, from instructional leagues all the way through the high school and collegiate levels.

In addition to the Ripken Coaching Clinic series, Ripken Baseball will offer a corresponding youth camp at the school on Sunday, Jan. 25th for young people ages 9-15.

Coaching Clinic registration is $125 per person and $99 per person for groups of 10 or more people. Participants will receive high-level instruction, a detailed instruction manual, catered lunch and giveaways/prizes. Clinics are open to all coaches and parents ages 18 and older. Space is limited and availability will be determined on a first-come, first-serve basis. For more information on the 2009 Coaching Clinic Series or to register for the Paramus clinic, visit www.RipkenCamps.com or call 1-800-486-0850.
