Bergen Community College presents throught provoking film "Jumping Off Bridges"

Bergen Community College's Wellness Center, in collaboration with the Care Plus Foundation, presents the award-winning film "Jumping Off Bridges," on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. in the Anna Maria Ciccone Theatre, 400 Paramus Road, Paramus. A panel discussion will follow with Bergen students, mental health professionals and Kat Candler, a renowned writer and director. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Seating is limited. Bergen Community College ID holders are admitted for free.
"Jumping Off Bridges," written by award-winning filmmaker Kat Candler, illustrates a heartfelt, thoughtful and accurate depiction of what life is like for people after a loved one commits suicide. This story follows a group of carefree, adventurous best friends into the trenches of adolescence. Filmgoers will learn about this group's struggle of grief, friendships, and heart breaking crushes.

The Care Plus Foundation was created in 1998 to support programming that decreases the stigma attached to those suffering with mental health issues; Care Plus Foundation continues to stay true to its mission. The Foundation is a non-profit corporation that supports the programs and services of Care Plus NJ through public education, program development, community relations and fundraising.
The Bergen Community College Wellness Center identifies ongoing wellness needs and resources for faculty, staff and students. It combines all the health aspects-physical, social, emotional, spiritual, and psychological. The Wellness Center focuses on a holistic approach to healthy living through healthy lifestyles and informed choices.
