New Fairway Market In Paramus Answers To Higher Authority

New Fairway Market In Paramus
1 Stop Shop For Kosher Baked Goods, Meats, Groceries, Dairy, Coffee and Organics

Keeping kosher will never be easier than when Fairway Market, the iconic New York grocery superstore and specialty shop, opens in Paramus in mid-March. Indeed, the new store, in the Fashion Center on Route 17 will be a one-stop shop for a complete line of kosher baked goods, meat and poultry, packaged goods, dairy products, and even organics.

“We have one of the best and most diverse array of kosher products in the world,” said William Owades, Fairway’s kosher food buyer. “And we are constantly adding new products based on our customers’ requests and desires. With such an unparalleled selection, there’s really no need to travel from store to store to get kosher meat, kosher dry goods, kosher dairy. We have it all under one roof.”

In fact, Owades noted that because of Fairway’s extensive relationships around the world, it is home to some of the most unique and highest quality kosher foods anywhere.

Fairway cuts its kosher meat – from organic poultry to natural grass fed beef and dozens of other offerings – on the premises under the on-site supervision of Rabbi Avrohom Marmorstein. Rabbi Marmorstein is the director of Mehadrin Kashrus, the widely-respected community-based kosher supervision service based in Manhattan, and spiritual leader of Congregation Minchas Chinuch there.

All of Fairway’s kosher meat and poultry is certified Glatt Kosher and comes from kosher slaughterhouses including Alle Processing, Empire, Natures Best, and Kiryat Joel.

On the dairy side, Fairway offers one of the largest selections of quality kosher cheeses, including Danish Blue, French Brie, English Cheddar, Italian Parmigiano Reggiano, Israeli Feta, and Domestic Fresh Mozzarella. Moreover, it carries Cholov Yisroel milk and other products.

To satisfy that sweet tooth and “carb fix,” the complete bakery operation is kosher – and Pas Yisroel – with such made-fresh-daily mouth-watering selections as bagels, baguettes, muffins, cakes, cookies, and pies.

What’s a little nosh of cake without a cup of coffee? Well, Fairway roasts its own beans – there are dozens and dozens of varieties and most are kosher. Moreover, the market does a special Passover coffee bean roasting.

The extensive Organic department offers kosher soy milk, soups, nut butters, and jams, among numerous other items, as well as a comprehensive line of Gluten Free and Sugar Free products. And Fairway’s private label brands that are certified kosher include all-natural smoked salmon – “unmatched in quality,” Owades said – as well as spices, sun-dried tomatoes, and pepperoncini, not to mention its famous Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Other kosher products include balsamic vinegar, wasabi peas, stuffed grape leaves, marshmallows, low mercury tuna, and Israeli cucumbers in brine.
