Council Meeting - Congratulations Council President Papa Niland

The proud father, Denis Niland was understandably not at the Mayor & Council meeting on March 10th. Patti, his wife, had just given birth to their son, their first child. Members of the Council and Mayor Tedesco were profuse in offering kudos to the couple. Mayor Tedesco joshed that Denis should enjoy the few days of quietude left before his son comes home! It seemed that the entire Council agreed!
Councilwoman O'Brien, in her report, mentioned that the pool should be open on time. Councilman Hayo expanded on that saying that Jay Sexton, the new Superintendant of Shade Tree & Parks had already had his men working at the site. He mentioned that a new fire alarm system had been installed at the Westfield Garden State Plaza Shopping Center and lauded Jeff Levine, Kevin Sheehan and Steve Mehl for their diligence in this matter.
The matter of long travels for our sports teams arose and Hayo requested that the residents send an e-mail to: Mr. Steven J. Timko, Executive Director NJSIAA, stimko@njsiaa.org requesting a change in the routing. More on that in a separate article.
A discussion was held concerning the salary of the golf course director. An increase was given in the resolution and Mayor Tedesco had to explain the reasons.
