Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County and its Youth United Program will hold a BOWL-A-THON

Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County and its Youth United Program will hold a BOWL-A-THON on Saturday, April 18 from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at Bowler City in Hackensack, New Jersey. Youth United is a group of Habitat Bergen youth volunteers that come together to raise awareness about poverty housing and to raise funds to provide affordable housing in Bergen County. Youth United members develop leadership skills by planning and implementing fundraising and advocacy events, building homes and experience the joy of helping others.
The Bergen County Youth United affiliate was awarded a $5,000 matching grant award from State Farm. Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County Youth United was one of 10 groups to be selected to receive this State Farm matching grant. The BOWL-A-THON is being coordinated with local State Farm Agent, Bob Testa, in Hackensack, New Jersey. The grant will be used to complete a current or future Habitat home.
The BOWL-A-THON is one of many events sponsored by the Youth United program. Some additional events will be a GUITAR HERO CONTEST, MUSIC EVENT as well as ADVOCACY EVENTS planned for the year. The Youth United program has much to offer for young adults who wish to take on leadership roles - new members are welcome!
