"Cross Sections," an Exhibit of Sculptural Works Reflecting the Images of Life and Politics Opens on March 30 at BCC

Experience local sculptors' creative artwork that showcases diverse viewpoints about important issues like politics, cancer recovery and hope, with a new exhibit, "Cross Sections" at Bergen Community College's Ciarco Learning Center (355 Main Street, Hackensack) from Monday, March 30 to Monday, June 1, 2009. Members of the Sculptor Affiliates Group of the Art Center of Northern N.J. are exhibiting a wide range of sculptures, titled "Hope I," "Unattainable," and "Let's Play Ball," which vary from light and airy wire mesh objects and wool "habitats" to large stone and wood creations.

Established over 50 years ago, the Art Center of Northern N.J. (the "home base" of the artists) is located at 250 Center Street in New Milford. The center offers classes in all areas of the fine arts (painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, etc.) and has been approved by the N.J. Dept. of Education for continuing education credits. The center has monthly gallery events, in addition to periodic workshops, seminars, gallery tours and other special programs.
