Bobby Flay Opens Bobby's Burger Palace™(BBP) Yummy Yum Yum

New Bobby's Burger Palace
Bobby's Burger Palace opened Tuesday, March 31st adjacent to the newly renovated Bergen Town Center main entrance. Bobby Flay & Mayor James Tedesco made a dynamic duo as Flay presented our Mayor with one of his delicious, delectable, mouth opening hamburgers. Tedesco, a good sport, managed to take a bite while a large welcoming crowd looked on.

On hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony were Assemblywomen Joan Voss and Connie Wagner, County Executive Dennis McNerney accompanied by several Freeholders, Bernadette McPherson, Liz Calabrese and Julie O'Brien, Paramus Council people Denis 'Papa' Niland, Cathy Bentz and Maureen O'Brien, Borough Administrator Anthony Iacono, Administrative Assistant Patty Smith, Chamber of Commerce Chairman Dmitri Miaoulis and President Fred Rohdieck and, of course, Bergen Town Center General Manager Bassam Mhich and last, but not least, Laurence Kretchmer, Bobby's Managing Partner.

Bobby's Burger Palace
Kretchmer knew all about www.ParamusPost.com and congratulated us on being the first media to announce the store's opening. I informed him that we double-teamed the opening today, we being myself and Co-Publisher and Picture Editor Sophie Stone. He and Bobby were congratulated for bringing 60 more jobs to Paramus.

Invited Guests included Clifford Brunelli, Town Center's Marketing Director and Elaine and Sam Casiello. From Bobby's Public Relations firm, Bullfrog & Baum were Jennifer Baum, Kay Lindsay and Chris Langley who saw to it that the ceremony ran smoothly. Chris even made sure that I received one of those huge man-sized cheeseburgers. Yummy yum yum!

Probably hands down the absolute worst burger I have ever eaten in my life. I can pick my teeth and get more meat out of them than I had in my burger. $7.50 for a dry piece of cheap meat is crazy. And what’s with the "crunchified" 7 pieces of vending machine potato chips on top of a murdered burger. Why people would even think of spending money at the place blows my mind and to think I even waited on line for this disaster. And it gets worse. Salad for another $7.50 comprised of 4 leafs of romaine lettuce the world’s smallest calamita olives beans from a can and Kraft balsamic vinegrette. Unfortunately the general public will be blind to this rip-off and Bobby will most likely be able to retire in the next few years as long as he doesn’t invest with someone like Madoff. Come to think of it Bobby and this burger place are like the ponzi scheme of the restaurant world.

I had a feeling this place wouldn't be all that special.  First of all I have never been impressed with Bobby Flay's cooking, but when I read that the burgers were made with griddles and I took a look at what some of the burgers look like on another website I wasn't too impressed.

My husband and I visited the new Burger Palace today and loved it.  Bobby was there without any fan-fare, working along with the other associates which was very cool.  Our burgers were juicy and delicious, the fries crispy on the outside and soft inside, and the DARK chocolate milkshake was wonderful - it could have been a dessert.

We will definitely go there again some time.
