Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County Sellout Crowd

On March 23, 2009 Fleming’s Steakhouse and Wine Bar of Edgewater, NJ hosted a Wine and Food Tasting event at their Edgewater location to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County. The event was attended by over 100 people who enjoyed four sumptuous wine and food pairings prepared by Executive Chef Scott Kroener. The evening was a wonderful success, raising over $7,000 to assist Habitat Bergen in their mission to eliminate poverty housing in Bergen County.

“We were truly touched by the generosity of Fleming’s in hosting this event and by the support of those individuals who attended the event,” said Susan Safire, ExecutiveDirector of Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County.

Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County uses volunteer labor and donated funds and materials to build decent, affordable housing for hard-working families in Bergen County. Homeowners put in 400 hours of “sweat equity” into their own home and the homes are sold to families at cost, with no interest added. Habitat for Humanity of Bergen County is now looking forward to its new projects beginning in Garfield, Waldwick and Oradell.
