West Brook is the Bergen County Brain Busters Champions!

West Brook Middle School came in first place out of approximately 400 seventh and eighth grade students from over 20 schools in Bergen County who competed in the Annual Bergen Brain Busters Competition held at Bergen Community College on May 15, 2009. Bergen Brain Busters gives student the opportunity to compete in a challenging academic competition that allows them to use their academic ability to answer questions from all areas of the middle school curriculum.

Two teams from each school competed in a series of three playoff rounds. The teams with the highest scores from the playoffs competed in the semi-final and final rounds.

West Brook’s two teams did amazingly well in the competition. West Brook Team 2 (Michael Sun, Jake Roth, Christine Muller, Parth Vaiyda and Muhamad Al Yousefy) came in 1st place in the competition. West Brook’s Team 1 (Sky Digirolamo, Nicholas Muller, Christine Idouchi, Matt Lemash, and Frank Darrigo) came in 5th place out of 42 teams. Congratulations to both teams on their excellent performance!
