Dr. G. Jeremiah Ryan, President of Bergen Community College, and Dr. Lois B. DeFleur, President of Binghamton University, recently signed a formal Transfer Articulation Agreement for Binghamton University's Bachelor of Science Degree in the School of Management. Under the terms of the agreement, Bergen students who earn an Associate in Science Degree (A. S.) in Business Administration will have completed credits toward the Bachelor of Science Degree (B.S.) in the School of Management if they choose the same major of study.
Students who follow the program structure from the start of their academic career at Bergen will earn 57 credits toward their bachelor's degree, including the attainment of an Associate's Degree. Students will then be eligible to apply to Binghamton University to complete the additional credits to earn their bachelor's degree in the School of Management. The admission application fee will be waived for students completing the degree.
"Bergen graduates who earn an Associate in Science Degree in Business Administration have acquired the basic knowledge and skills in their particular field of study," said Jean Goldstein, Articulation Coordinator at Bergen Community College. "At Binghamton University, they will receive extensive training in the functional areas of management and an awareness of the legal, environmental, and societal factors that affect decision making in organizations."
Bergen currently has 134 articulation agreements with more than 30 four-year colleges and universities and offers over 40 A.A. and A.S. transfer programs. This transfer agreement was made possible due to the collaborative and cooperative efforts of faculty at Bergen Community College and Binghamton University.
