Pictured clockwise from left: Agnes Brooks, Auxiliary member; Joan Perrapato, volunteer; Geraldine Hardiman, volunteer; Eleanor Arcurio, volunteer; and Marie Potosnack, Auxiliary member, gather around donated clothing of Hackensack University Medical Center’s (HUMC) newly-relocated Green Caboose Thrift Shop at 86 Orchard Street, in Hackensack (formerly the location of Pasquales Men’s Wear of Italy). In January, a fire destroyed the historic Anderson Street train station in Hackensack, the former location of the Green Caboose.
The new site not only accommodates all the elements of the original thrift shop, but also provides additional space for clothing, jewelry, children’s toys and books, and other household items. The Green Caboose is staffed and operated by the HUMC Auxiliary and HUMC volunteers. Donations can be dropped off during business hours Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. For additional information about the Green Caboose, please call 201-487-1462.
