Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC), in conjunction with Heights Flower Shop in Hasbrouck Heights and Teleflora, will celebrate National Make Someone Smile Week, on Wednesday, July 22, beginning at 9 a.m., as part of a nationwide benevolent project. Florists around the country coordinated efforts to deliver floral arrangements in commemorative Teleflora Be Happy® mugs to those most in need of a smile: hospital patients, children at foster-care facilities, residents of nursing homes, and others who might need a lift. Floral arrangements will also be distributed at Hackensack University Medical Center North at Pascack Valley, located at 250 Old Hook Road in Westwood, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
Ray Vorisek, owner of Heights Flower Shop, in Hasbrouck Heights, graciously donates more than 1,000 floral arrangements and live plants to patients at HUMC and assists with volunteers in the delivery of the flowers and plants. HUMC and HUMC North at Pascack Valley will be the only hospitals in New Jersey to benefit from the generosity from Heights Flower Shop in Hasbrouck Heights and Teleflora.
