Paramus Sunrise Rotary Prepares To Get Wet

Plans were made at Tuesday's meeting for Thursday's Pool Party at the home of member Kelly Leitch. Although inclement weather loomed in the forecast< it was decided to hold the party subject to a last minute decision. A menu was planned for the group taking into consideration the fact that several Rotarians are vegetarians. With this hot weather, it will be a welcome relief!

Filling in for the scheduled speaker was Buzz Dressel who gave an 'armchair' update of solar panels. It seems that the IBEW Local 164 is on the cutting edge of the technology. They recently installed panels on their office building at 205 Robin Road in Paramus. Dressel discussed the feasibility of residential solar installations as well as large buildings.

In particular, Buzz Dressel mentioned Bergen Community College and the payback time the task would require. When submitting plans and costs, he was asked about the possibility of the project being fraught with failure. To which he replied that it would fail only if the sun burned out!

Paramus Rotaract Club is holding a fundraiser at the Fashion Center Applebee's on Tuesday, August 25th.
