EDDIE MONEY AND JOHN WAITE - Come Together to Rock n’ Roll at bergenPAC
By Mel Fabrikant Monday, October 12, 2009, 07:39 AM EDT
There's no way that Eddie Money could stop writing songs; it's in his nature to discover a new melody when just strumming a guitar at home. Twenty-six of his singles wound up charting in the Top 100, and 10 in the Top 40. Money and British rocker John Waite are invading the bergenPAC on October 23rd. Just start naming Eddie Money hits and one has to include "Two Tickets to Paradise," "Baby Hold On," "Take Me Home Tonight," "Want to Go Back," "Think I'm in Love" and of course "Shakin'." He recorded more than a dozen albums and sold more than 12 million records around the world.
Friday October 23 at 8pm - $99, $49, $49, $39, $29
The son of a New York City policeman, Eddie himself left the Police Academy to become of rock singer in California in the mid-’70s. Bill Graham of Fillmores East and West fame became his manager and got Money signed to Columbia Records. His first self-titled album in 1978 generated two hits: "Baby Hold On" and "Two Tickets to Paradise." He is best known for "Take Me Home Tonight," a 1986 duet with Ronnie Spector of The Ronettes. He had a strong presence in the early years of MTV and last charted in 1992 with "I’ll Get By."
John Waite has always captured the moment through his songs. The experience of rock 'n' roll glory came fast and furious for John Waite during the late 1970s. His band, The Babys, captured all the excitement of hitting it big in America: hit albums, hit singles and sellout concerts. Solo in the early '80s, John Waite's career ignited with the MTV/radio staple “Change” and then exploded with “Missing You,” a worldwide number one hit that has become a pop rock radio staple.
Only minutes from Manhattan, bergenPAC is located in the heart of Englewood, NJ. Tickets start at $29 and are available by calling the bergenPAC Box Office at (201) 227-1030.
