Paramus Police Chief Richard J. Cary Announces the Arrests Of Suspects In Fur Robbery

Paramus Police Chief Richard J. Cary announced the arrests of Milutin JOVANOVIC, Jelena SEKULARAC-RADULOVICH, Danijela PRANJIC, and Nenad TEODOSIC on robbery and theft charges. The arrest came about as a result of an investigation conducted by members of the Paramus Police Department and members of the Fort Lee Police Department.

On Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at 4:19 p.m., Paramus Police received a 9-1-1 call from an employee of Steven Corn Furs, 358 N. Route 17 North, Paramus, NJ. The employee reported that a white male in the store had concealed a fur coat under his overcoat and then exited without paying. A female companion also left the store at that time. The store manager followed the male into the parking lot with another employee and attempted to detain him. The male resisted and struck both store employees with his hands and then, along with the female, entered a silver minivan with a Florida license plate and drove off. A second female companion, later identified as Jelena SEKULARAC-RADULOVICH was detained inside the store by employees and was taken into custody by Paramus detectives.

Descriptions of the suspect vehicle and suspects were broadcast over the Statewide Police Emergency Network, and a short time later, the van and three occupants were stopped by Fort Lee police on the upper level of the George Washington Bridge. Two fur coats with Steven Corn tags and stock numbers were observed on the seat of the minivan, and subsequently identified as being stolen from the Paramus store. The occupants, Milutin JOVANOVIC, Danijela PRANJIC, and Nenad TEODOSIC were arrested by Fort Lee officers for possession of stolen property. Witnesses from the Paramus store were brought to the scene of the stop where they positively identified Milutin JOVANOVIC and Danijela PRANJIC as the subjects who were inside the store with Jelena SEKULARAC-RADULOVICH. As a result of the Paramus investigation, Milutin JOVANOVIC was charged with robbery, Jelena SEKULARAC-RADULOVICH, and Danijela PRANJIC were charged with theft. Bail for each defendant on the Paramus charges was set at $20,000. Bail on the Fort Lee charges was $75,000 for TEODOSIC and PRANJIC, and $20,000 for JOVANOVIC. The total value of the two recovered furs was $90,000.
