Avatar: An IMAX 3D Experience ®

This could be reviewed in two words "SEE IT!" strike that .. make it three words "SEE IT NOW!" This from a person who avoids going to the movie theater. ParamusPost.com Publisher Sam Stone and I visited the AMC 16 theatres at the Westfield Garden State Plaza Shopping Center over the weekend to see and review Avatar in IMAX 3D ®. We came out awestruck!
The plot was of little consequence to me, the 3D effects were! While the plot followed routine story lines, boy meets girl and an aggressor wants to conquer, in my opinion, it paled when compared to the beauty portrayed on the IMAX ® screen.
Wearing the IMAX ® glasses, floating puffs seemed to come right towards me, almost in my lap. I took the glasses off several times to test the picture; I put them right back on. The images were crystal clear, like the HDTV sets now so popular. Sounds came from speakers that surrounded the viewers and one could actually feel the floor trembling during battle shots.
The scenery is awesome, the effect of feeling a part of the scene is tremendous.
James Cameron's Avatar in 3D is a film worth seeing. This was evidenced by the long line of people waiting to get in. We asked one of the people lined up if he was going to see Avatar. He replied yes, that he had a long wait. We assured him that the wait would be well worth his while.
We felt so!
