FirstService Williams Awarded Hartz Mountain Brokers of the Year

--Recognized for Largest Office, Industrial Leases of 2009--

FirstService Williams, the New York Tri-State hub of the world’s fourth largest commercial real estate services firm, has been recognized by developer Hartz Mountain Industries with 2009 Brokers of the Year awards. Hartz Mountain is one of the most prominent developers in the United States, with approximately 38 million square feet of assets in the New Jersey/New York area alone
“We are extremely grateful for the recognition Hartz Mountain has given us,” said Mark Jaccom, CEO, FirstService Williams. “They are an excellent and valued business partner. “It is an honor to accept these awards. Let me also thank our brokerage teams, who in an extremely difficult year rose above today’s economic challenges and transacted market-leading deals.” “These two awards are a testament to the outstanding work of our brokerage teams,” said Jeff Schotz, executive managing officer, FirstService Williams NJ. “It also further proves that challenging markets can bring out the best performances in dedicated professionals.”

As Office Award recipients, the FirstService Williams team of Michael T. Cohen and Colton Brown, along with David Pennetta of Oxford & Simpson Realty, Inc., negotiated a seven-year, 320,282-square-foot renewal on behalf of Broadridge Financial Solutions, Inc. at 2 Journal Square in Jersey City, New Jersey. The renewal was one of the year’s largest office leases in the Tri-State region. Located just above the Journal Square PATH terminal, 2 Journal Square is owned in partnership by Hartz Mountain Industries, Panepinto Properties and Garden State Development.

As Industrial Award recipients, the FirstService Williams team of Lori Zuck and Marvin Rosenberg represented Breeze-Eastern Corporation in its 10-year, 116,246-square-foot office and industrial lease at 35 Melanie Lane in Whippany, N.J. Breeze-Eastern is a publicly traded company and the world’s leading supplier of electric and hydraulic rescue hoist systems for helicopters. Hartz Mountain Industries owns and manages the new facility at 35 Melanie Lane.

“Deals of this magnitude are made possible with the help of dedicated brokers who know the market, know their clients and work diligently with us to make deals happen,” said Emanuel Stern, president and COO of Hartz Mountain Industries. “I am proud to announce [these] 2009 award recipients.”
