Hartz Mountain Industries, a New Jersey-based owner of commercial properties, has named Chip Conklin, Dan Foley and Gregg Najarian of international commercial real estate services firm Studley, 2009 Office Brokers of the Year. They were three of the 11 office and industrial brokers who were presented with this award at an event hosted by Hartz back in November.
The three were recognized for representing Eisai Medical Research Inc (EMR), a subsidiary of Eisai Corporation of North America, on a 118,000-square-foot lease for the entire building at 155 Tice Boulevard in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey.
This lease, which was announced by Studley in March along with a second, 41,000-square-foot lease at the Mack-Cali-owned building, 300 Tice Boulevard, created a headquarters campus environment for Eisai Corporation of North America, which has been located in 210,000 square feet at 100 Tice Boulevard for the past two years.
“There were many moving parts to these transactions,” shared Mr. Najarian, referring in part to the long-term lease at 155 Tice, which included EMR subleasing its former headquarters space in Ridgefield Park back to the landlord Hartz Mountain. We applaud Hartz's ability to resolve the complexities of the transaction to everyone's satisfaction,” added Mr. Foley.
