Captain Mark Distler
Mark Distler, Teaneck Police Captain, Paramus Save Our Wetlands co-sponsor, asked his friends to support him in his humanitarian effort to celebrate his promotion by donating to Tomorrow's Children's Fund at Hackensack University Medical Center. Judging by the large turnout, Mark has a lot of friends. It was held at Ultrabar, 400 Cedar Lane in Teaneck.
Kathy Ambrose, Administrative Director of DON IMUS – WFAN Pediatric Center for Tomorrow's Children was on hand to give Captain Distler a plaque commemorating his efforts. County Executive Dennis McNerney also honored Mark with a special commendation. Other appearing there who were familiar to me were: Freeholder John Driscoll, Judy Distler (Mark's mother) and Mike and Guylaine Blitzstein.
Mark took me on a tour of Ultrabar which wends its way in a U shape. They have an outdoor Tiki Bar available in warmer weather; it was almost warm enough to use it. Ultrabar boasts a dance floor fully manned by disco lighting and table area where its patrons can sit and eat.
The perfect host, Mark Distler was seen escorting his friends on a tour of the premises and introducing as many people as he could. Final results for the fundraiser are not available yet, but judging from the people that kept flowing in, I am sure that a lot of money was raised.
Thank you Mark for your thoughtfulness.
