Wine Tasting At The Knights of Columbus on February 13th

Mother Seton Council #5427 of the Knights of Columbus is hosting a wine tasting extravaganza on the eve of Valentine’s Day, Saturday, February 13, 2010. The event will start at 8:00 p.m. at the Council Hall, 79 Pascack Road, Township of Washington, NJ 07676. In addition to the fine selection of unique wines to sample, there will be an ongoing parade of hot and cold hors d’ouevres and fine cheeses. Wine connoisseurs and those who are looking to hone their appreciation and knowledge of varietal vintages are all welcome. Finally, for attendees looking for a change of pace, beer will be available throughout the evening. All this and only $45.00 per person! Tickets may be purchased Monday through Friday after 3:00 p.m. in the Members Room at the rear of the building or at the door, February 13th.
The Knights of Columbus was founded in 1882 at St. Mary’s Church in New Haven, Connecticut, by Fr. Michael J. McGivney. It is the world’s largest Catholic, family, fraternal, service organization with over 1.78 million members in some 13,700 local councils in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Guam, Guatemala, Panama, the Virgin Islands, the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, Saipan and Poland. It is dedicated to Church, community, family, and youth programs. Last year individual Knights spent 69 million hours in volunteer services and the Order donated $150 million in charitable contributions. Members of the K of C also spent 6 million hours visiting the sick and bereaved and delivered 10 million hours in fraternal services to them. Additionally 413,402 Knights were blood donors. The New Jersey Knights donated $4,568,772 to charities last year.
