THE MASTER GARDENERS OF BERGEN COUNTY Present “Great Flowering Landscape Shrubs”
At the next Master Gardener meeting, learn about "Great Flowering Landscape Shrubs" from expert Vincent Simeone.
How to select the proper plant for the proper place, whether for aesthetic value, landscape function or cultural requirements. Find exciting new cultivars of traditional shrubs. Landscape design techniques and plant use. New and improved varieties for increased drought, cold, pest & disease resistance and provide superior aesthetic value and landscape function.
Vincent Simeone has worked in the horticultural field for over 20 years. He has a BS in ornamental horticulture from the University of Georgia where he studied under Dr Michael Dirr & Dr Allan Armitage. His expertise is woody plant ID, culture, use and selection. He is an experienced lecturer, instructor, horticultural consultant and author of four books.
Active in local & national organizations including The American Public Garden Assoc., NY Hortus Club, NY State Arborist, ISA Chapter, Nassau Suffolk Landscape Gardeners Assoc., & the LI Nursery & Landscaping Assoc. Vincent, has for past 17 years worked in public horticulture at Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic park in Oyster Bay, NY, where he is the Director.
The presentation will held be on Tuesday February 23, 2010 at 7:30pm, at the Community Services Building, 327 East Ridgewood Avenue in Paramus. (across from Bergen Regional Medical Center). Meetings are open to all interested gardeners, free of charge, and refreshments are served, starting at 7pm.
