Teaneck Community Education Center announces Spring programs

The Teaneck Community Education Center brochure for Spring 2010 has been mailed to all Teaneck residents and others on the mailing list, and is available upon request to those who are interested in classes, workshops, trips, and special programs for all ages. Non –residents are welcome. Call the Center office at 201 / 833-5514 if you would like a copy, or if you have questions about something that is being offered this semester. Registration is being accepted, by mail, or in person at the Center office at One Merrison Street, Teaneck, Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
From arts and crafts to walking tours, there is “something for everyone” this Spring, including arts and crafts, dance, technology, bridge, real estate, e-bay, voice-overs, organizing, dog training, photography, reading Shakespeare, make-up, music, finances, yoga, business, Spanish, gardening, cooking, cruises and trips to far-away places, and so much more.
The popular SuperStrides program, sponsored by The Puffin Foundation, provides outstanding after-school enrichment for third – eighth graders at affordable prices. A series of Parenting Workshops offers sound advice about raising children. Help is also available for working parents who need full-day coverage during mid-year and summer vacations. Camp Kookooskoos will be held during the February and April breaks and for six weeks, starting at the end of July, with a two-week extension available for those who need additional coverage. Musical Words and Order in the Courtroom – both of which have received accolades from parents and children for years – are also on the summer schedule.
SAT preparation; Teaneck Women Train and Work (TW2), with programs to assist women with workforce re-entry and job searches, and, teenagers, with GED, jobs, and college tuition; and Basic Skills Training, including English as a Second Language – are all included in the brochure.
