Englewood Hospital Lends A Helping Hand To Help Combat Child Hunger

Proper nutrition is essential to building strong minds and bodies. Yet many children in our local Bergen County communities go without basic nutritional requirements on weekends, when free and reduced-price school lunches are unavailable. Englewood Hospital and Medical Center proudly supported the Center for Food Action at the launch of the Weekend Snack Packs program. The program aims to prevent the likelihood of child hunger by providing children with healthy weekend snacks to take home on Friday afternoons.
Englewood employees and their families volunteered their time to help pack these special care packages which feature healthy food options for children. The packages will discreetly placed into the backpacks of the children identified as being at risk of weekend hunger by teachers or the school nurse. Englewood Hospital is committed to embracing community projects that aim to improve the health and overall wellbeing of our neighbors.
We are very proud of our employees for their recent efforts to help combat child hunger in our community. Attached is a photograph and a caption appears below. I hope you’ll consider sharing this bit of happy news with your readers. Thank you!
