SIOR's N.J. Chapter Hosted Successful Event in Basking Ridge Which Focused on Economic Recovery in 2010

The New Jersey Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR), recently hosted its annual keystone event on March 11, 2010 at Dolce in Basking Ridge, N.J. The theme for the evening was, "Rising from the Ashes," which featured guest speaker Marci Rossell, former chief economist for CNBC & Co-Host of Squawk Box, who provided insightful and uplifting commentary about the complex challenges that are currently impacting the economy and commercial real estate markets.
"This year's event attracted a great group of knowledgeable, experienced, and successful commercial real estate practitioners, providing an opportunity to discuss the current market fundamentals, and to foster and cultivate valuable relationships," stated Charles Parmelli, SIOR, CCIM, president of SIOR's New Jersey Chapter and associate vice president at Cassidy Turley. "The night proved to be a complete success and I cannot emphasize enough how appreciative we are of our sponsors who continue to partner with us even during difficult economic times."

In addition, five SIOR members were honored with awards in recognition of their significant transactions completed in 2009. This year's recipients included the following:
• Largest Multi-Part Transaction - Daniel M. Foley from Studley received this award for the completion of two lease transactions on behalf of the tenant, Eisai Pharmaceutical in Woodcliff Lake, N.J. The first was an 188,000-square-foot lease transaction at 155 Tice Blvd and the second was for a 41,800-square-foot space at 300 Tice Blvd. The landlord in both of these transactions was Mack-Cali Realty.
• Largest Lease Transaction - Thomas P. Consiglio of Resource Realty was the recipient of this award for the completion of a 137,523-square-foot headquarters lease at 500 Plaza Drive North in Secaucas, N.J. on behalf of the tenant, The Children's Place. The landlord in this transaction was Hartz Mountain.
• Largest Build to Suit - George P. Molloy from Grubb and Ellis earned this award for completing the sale of a 108,000-square-foot building, which spans 8.19 acres and is located at 35 Commerce Drive in South Brunswick, N.J. The tenant/buyer in this transaction was CRP Industries, who was represented by Mr. Molloy and the developer was JG Petrucci.
• Largest Cooperating Transaction Between SIOR's in NJ - Daniel M. Foley and Thomas Carragher, both from Studley, and Stanley Danzig from Cushman & Wakefield received this award for the completion of a 231,000-square-foot lease transaction at 261 River Road in Clifton, N.J. Mr. Foley and Mr. Carragher represented the tenant, Central Lewmar International Paper, while Mr. Danzig represented the landlord.
• Largest Cooperating Transaction Between a NJ SIOR and an SIOR Outside of NJ - Andrew B. Zezas of Real Estate Strategies Corporation earned this award for his role in completing the 115,000-square-foot lease transaction with Agfa in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. David Hurst of Colliers International in Toronto, Canada cooperated with Mr. Zezas on closing this transaction.
