Sunrise Meeting 04-20-10
After several members wrote in to say that they couldn’t attend, the scheduled speaker cancelled due to illness. This did not faze the attendees; they diverted to discussing their Fashion Show on May 21st. President Mukesh Malkan asked Donna Kennedy to light the Remembrance Candle with a wish that member Father Peter Lekkas come through his surgery with no complications. He then asked Donna to lead the group in the salute to the flag and (something she had never done alone) recite the 4 Way Test. Donna came through with high honors and even included question # 5.
Val Coniglio was prepared to discuss show responsibilities while Betsy Thomason went through the ad journal, a task that she is tackling in her first year as a Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club Member.
The big thrust is to sell tickets and get Door and Tricky Tray prizes. Bassam Mhich, Bergen Town Center General Manager, has been most cooperative. Not only has Bergen Town Center donated a Door Prize, but they have assisted in encouraging their shops to furnish clothing for both adults and children. Also gone over was the many people who have decided to sponsor tables of 10 by offering $500.00 which includes a full page ad in the journal.
