To The Editor:
I wrote this poem to you around 1961 and you printed it, Thank you.
It will explain itself. The next one I started about a week ago and ended
the day after an accident happened there, the other day. Hope you print
the next poem in your paper too. Thanks ahead of time.
CENTURY-FARVIEW
C ars to the left of you, car to the right,
E arly last evening, it was an awful fright.
N obody around till after the crash,
T hen all the good people came to help in a flash!
U p on the sidewalk, the car came with a bound,
R ight out of his car, and down to the ground.
Y ou see the other car, you see the lady cry.
F uture accidents will happen there, ask yourself, why?
A nswer to that question is clear as can be,
R ide there yourself and you will surely see!
V ery dangerous intersection,
I' d like a light for protection.
E ven when some lives are taken,
W ill that help make them awaken?

TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS NEEDED
F ellow residents and those who are passing through,
A favor I want to ask of you.
R ealizing that it is one of my great concerns,
V oices might help getting lights for making left and right hand turns.
I t is a hazard and causes delays, can't the officials see?
E nough is enough, fix it please, how happy we all would be!
W e get near the light, it's stop and go, trying to make a turn,
AND my husband in the drivers seat, OH! how he does burn!
M idland and Farview really need help, go there and see,
I t took us 5 minutes to make a turn, to long, don't you agree?
D idn't have ANY light on Farview and Century, in nineteen sixty one,
L acking a light, made it hard to cross with a stroller and our son!
A t that time, the Post printed a poem I wrote, about getting a light.
N ow thanks to the Post for helping to show , we needed a light at that site.
D ays ago I started this poem and the other day on our way home,
A n accident we saw - What a wreck! A person in a car, a brace on the neck!!
V ery sad, please don't delay, call your officials, do it today!
E nough is enough, fix it please, getting through the light, would be a breeze!!
