On May 8th the Paramus West Brook Middle School React Club members gave up a Saturday morning to spread some cheer at the Wanaque Pediatric Nursing Facility. The children at the Wanaque center are profoundly challenged, and some of them do not receive visitors. The students made name plates for every child, played and sang songs with the children, and rocked the babies! Students also presented a check to the Recreation Department for $500.00 to replace an outdoor tent that was destroyed during a storm.
The children will be able to go outside and enjoy the playground equipment that React has donated over the years! It was an awesome experience to watch the smiles on many of the children’s faces as our students interacted with them. We wrapped up our trip by lunching at Burger King. Ms. Peterson. Ms. Jenkins and Ms. Kapr would like to thank the students who helped to drop off the check: Katrina Rossi, Melanie Yabroudy, Nicole Windram, Danielle Windram, Danny Paolazzi, and Kaylee Derderian.
