Princeton's Newest Luxury Development Now Writing Contracts
The Residences at Palmer Square, a new luxury townhome and condominium community at Palmer Square in the heart of downtown Princeton, N.J., is officially open for sales and is writing contracts with prospective buyers. "We are delighted to be launching sales," said Jay Goldberg, sales manager for The Residences. "We encourage interested buyers to visit our sales office to view our billiard table-sized scale model of the development and to visit our first five townhomes, which are expected to be completed early this summer."
Phase I consists of 11 four-level townhomes, which include spacious, high-ceilinged, unfinished lower levels and range in size from 2,600 to 3,200 square feet, and 16 condominiums, ranging in size from 1,600 to 3,200 square feet. The homes, which offer an unusual degree of spaciousness, are priced from $1.2 to $2.5 million. When complete, The Residences will contain 100 elegant one-of-a-kind homes, including 83 condominiums and 17 townhomes. Construction is taking place in three phases, with completion expected in mid-2012. Phase I is nearing completion now, with the first occupancies expected to take place within weeks.
One of the many appealing aspects of this unique development is its location in Palmer Square, a town square in the heart of downtown Princeton, directly across Nassau Street from Princeton University. The Residences is located on Paul Robeson Place between Chambers and Witherspoon Streets. Palmer Square is home to more than 40 brand-name stores, boutiques, restaurants and specialty food shops, as well as the historic Nassau Inn, which once housed the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Charming and picturesque, Palmer Square is considered the crown jewel of Princeton's downtown.
"The demand for the style of living offered by these homes has been incredible," Goldberg said. "Prospective buyers love the convenience of the in-town location, which offers a pedestrian friendly environment, immediate access to upscale shopping and dining and an easy commute to New York and Philadelphia." The Residences represents the completion of the vision of Edgar Palmer, who in 1929 imagined a bustling, European-style town square that would include shops, restaurants and residences. Although there have always been residences in Palmer Square, there has never been a development of this level of luxury and quality.
The federal-style brick exteriors of The Residences are designed to blend seamlessly with the immediate Palmer Square environment, thereby complementing Princeton's architectural legacy, which includes the colonial-era structures of Palmer Square as well as the Gothic Revival architecture for which the university is famed. The design of The Residences is characterized by sophisticated luxury, including elevators and 10-foot first-floor ceilings in the townhomes; fixtures and finishes of the highest quality; and extensive millwork, including magnificent fireplaces, pocket doors and elegant crown moldings. In addition, the steel and concrete construction offers the ultimate in quality and privacy.
The Residences also offers abundant exposure to the arts, entertainment and cultural offerings of Princeton, including the world-class productions of the nearby McCarter Theatre, as well as the Princeton University Art Museum, which features works by Monet, Goya and many other prominent artists. All of the homes feature the opportunity to lease parking in the Hulfish Street Parking Garage.
