Allendale Poet Laureate Visits with Seniors, Reads Recent Works

Poet Laureate of Allendale Laurie Byro, center, holding book, recently met with residents at The Atrium, the supportive independent living senior residence at The Allendale Community for Mature Living. During her visit, Byro, an employee of the Lee Memorial Library in Allendale, read some of her award winning poems from her newly published book, “The Bird Artists.”
After the reading, Byro spoke with residents (seated, L-R) Connie Moldoch, Virgina Carrick, Helen Thomkiewwicz, (standing, L-R) Ann Lalka, Evelyn Kirkpatrick, Senior Social Club staff member Bernadette Hicks, Michael Byro and resident Grace Parkin about the art of poetry.
