Residents and guests of Heritage Pointe of Teaneck, a full-service rental retirement community, got timely advice from area banking and healthcare professionals during a recent presentation titled “Safe Time in the Summertime.”
Attendees learned important details on what identity theft is and how it happens from Danny Lu, assistant manager, and Craig Nichols, branch manager, of The Berkshire Bank in Teaneck. The bankers also shared tips on how to avoid becoming a victim of identity theft, and the necessary steps to take in order to re-establish one’s identity and credit stability if it occurs.
Nancy Ellson, RN, MSN, APN, coordinator for the Center for Healthy Living at Holy Name Medical Center, focused on how to enjoy outdoor activities safely. Topics she discussed were: the importance of adequate hydration during the hot weather, especially for those who are taking certain medications; steps to take for skin cancer prevention; avoiding lightning strikes during summer storms; and a review of common insect bites, their treatment and when to seek immediate care for certain bites. Nancy is also president of the Teaneck Rotary Club.
Heritage Pointe of Teaneck, located at 600 Frank W. Burr Boulevard, hosts seminars of interest to area retirees throughout the year, including ongoing wellness presentations by Ellson through Holy Name Medical Center’s alliance with Heritage Pointe.
