Artist Marina Parulava, pictured, recently displayed various handmade felted art and clothing items at The Atrium, the supportive independent living senior residence at The Allendale Community for Mature Living. Residents admired her works, and learned of Parulava’s process of creating the felt by exposing wool to heat, water and pressure. A slideshow of antique, handmade felted pieces from the Asian Steppes was also presented at the exhibit by Mary Stampleman of The Atrium.
The Allendale Community for Mature Living is located at 85 Harreton Road, off Route 17 South in Allendale. The exhibit was one of the many cultural, educational and social programs held at the community each month. For more information about upcoming events that are open to the public, contact Mary Stampleman at (201) 818-7979 or visit www.allendalecommunity.com.
