On September 6, Banana Republic will debut its newest New Jersey store with a refined focus: a completely redesigned shopping experience merged with a strong connection to the unique Banana Republic customer and the accessible luxury they seek. Specifically modeled to its clientele and community through design, product assortment, artwork, amenities and more, the new concept at Garden State Plaza leads the way in Banana Republic’s effort to make the store experience more relevant to customer needs and the lives they lead.
“Our new store concept reflects the effortless style of our collections while inviting a fresh sense of discovery and modern appeal,” explains Banana Republic President, Jack Calhoun. “It is important that we offer our loyal customers a shopping experience that they will appreciate and embrace.”
Inside, the store indulges the Banana Republic customer’s appetite for discovery. A wide, central boulevard is lined by shops that draw you inside. The intimate boutiques have an almost residential feel, designed like idealized walk-in closets. Each addresses the various wardrobe needs of the Banana Republic New Jersey customer: dinner with clients at Biagio’s, Sunday brunch at Shelly’s Cafe, an opening at the newest hot-spot.
A circular plaza anchors the floor, serving as a hub and an accessories destination that’s ringed with covetable handbags, jewelry and shoes. From the outside, the traditional window displays are replaced by a clear view directly into the store of a shoppable area, stocked with the best finds for each season.
“Our collection is designed to fulfill the different parts of our customer’s lives from day to night, work to play, and we wanted to create a shopping environment that is inspired by each of these,” says Banana Republic Creative Director, Simon Kneen.
The new Banana Republic New Jersey and its tailored approach will house both women’s and men’s collections. Located on Level 2 of Garden State Plaza near Nordstrom, the store will also include work, weekend, and Heritage collections along with a full range of accessories: jewelry, handbags, shoes, eyewear and small leather goods. It’s a 360-degree personalized experience that’s all about ease, featuring services like a professional stylist, hemming, and fitting-room check-out.
