Rochelle Park Police Report

ATTEMPTED RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
On Monday August 30th at approximately 1:00 PM a resident of Rochelle Avenue reported a suspicious vehicle. Responding police officers spoke with the homeowner and discovered that the suspicious vehicle was actually a botched burglary attempt. The resident heard his interior garage door begin to open. He walked to the garage to investigate and found a black male party standing in his garage. The resident questioned the male, described as a black male wearing shorts and a t-shirt, with a large build and a shaved head. The male stated that he was looking for landscaping work and then abruptly fled in a Grey 2007 Nissan with California license plate 5XRL305. The vehicle was additionally reported to have damage to the rear. It is believed that this same person attempted to burglarize a home in Washington Township earlier in the day. Police urge residents to be on the lookout for this vehicle, and report this or any other suspicious vehicles and/or individuals.
