Randy Kaplan Brings Zany-Fun Songs to SYMPHONY SPACE on October 9th

Two Performances Presented as Part of Weekly “Just Kidding” Series for Families

– Symphony Space’s “Just Kidding” series of weekly family-friendly performances continues with two performances by nationally acclaimed artist Randy Kaplan on Saturday, October 9th. Nickelodeon's Parentsconnect has chosen Kaplan’s new CD The Kids Are All Id as a "Parent Pick" for 2010. His offbeat acoustic music has been a “top 10 pick” on NPR, and his songs are played regularly on Sirius-XM Satellite Radio.

In his family concerts, Kaplan blends American roots, country blues, and comedic storytelling. He finger-picks and strums his way through these unpredictable live shows which, in addition to his original compositions, include Tin Pan Alley gems, Broadway numbers and Delta Blues songs. This troubadour’s sensibility hearkens back to early 20th century styles, served up fresh for 21st century audiences. Kaplan, a former Brooklynite who now hails from Los Angeles, paints a humorous and poignant picture with every song.
