Rep. Pascrell Congratulates NJ Hospitals Receiving Nearly $40 Million In Federal Medicaid Funds Made Available By Recovery Act

Paterson's St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center to receive $2.7 million toward electronic medical records. U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ) today released the following statement in reaction to nearly $40 million in federal Medicaid funds being distributed among 70 health care facilities that have begun implementing electronic medical records systems. Among the hospitals receiving the funds is St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson, which was awarded $2,682,840.

"I want to congratulate all of the hospitals and health care facilities around New Jersey who are receiving these dollars that were made available by the federal Recovery Act," said Pascrell, a member of the House Ways and Means Committee's Health Subcommittee who proudly voted in support of the Recovery Act in February 2009. "These health care centers had taken the initiative to begin modernizing in order to be more efficient in serving their patients. The federal investment in Medicaid will enable these facilities to continue those efforts, improving health care providers' ability to do their jobs, reduce costs, and better track their patients health."
