Past Paramus Sunrise Rotary President Liz Mason Donates $4500 To Charities and Organizations

Paramus Sunrise Rotary
Each Immediate Past President of the Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club has the option of donating funds to organizations and charities of his or her choice. Liz Mason selected both local and global charities. The monies come from the fundraising efforts of the club under that president's term. A 501(c)3 club, the main fundraising comes from an annual Fashion Show usually held in May. This year's Fashion Show will be held on Friday, May 11th at Bergen Community College in conjunction with the college's Rotary Club. The groups that benefitted from this largesse were as follows!

Gift of Life, Raphael Hogar Orphanage, Children’s Aid and Family Services - “Burgin Parents Fund”, Paramus Library, Paramus Fire Department, Paramus Police Department and PolioPlus, a Rotary International project to rid the world of Polio. Editor's note: It has just been announced that there was only one case of polio recently reported in India, one of the most predominant polio countries

Among those on hand from Paramus were Mayor Rich LaBarbiera, who was also the main speaker, Councilman Tommy LoCicero, Fire Chief Bruce Durrenberger, Jr., Battalion Chief Craig Burrows. Detective Lieutenant Rob Guidetti and Detective Rachel Morgan.

After the presentation, Mayor LaBarbiera spoke to the club about Paramus and invited questions. Past President Mukesh Malkan had several poignant questions as did other club members. One of the visitors to the club meeting was Lina LaRusso, Marketing Director of Advantage Aquatic in Rochelle Park. Lina was so impressed with the good that the club does that she is contemplating joining the Paramus Sunrise Rotary Club. www.paramussunrise.org.
