NJ Meadowlands To Host WWE's WRESTLEMANIA AXXESS, Main Event and Monday Night Raw in April 2013

RUTHERFORD, NJ, Nov. 9, 2012—New Jersey’s Meadowlands will welcome more than 100,000 visitors in April 2013 when they host three of WWE’s four WrestleMania 29 events; the four-day Axxess fan-fest at the IZOD Center, starting on Thurs., Apr. 4th, WrestleMania 29’s Main Event at MetLife Stadium on Sun., Apr. 7th, and Monday Night Raw, also at the IZOD Center on Mon., Apr. 8th.

The five-day event, widely considered the most epic event for the wrestling community, begins with Axxess, a four-day fan fest offering opportunities to get autographs and take pictures with WWE Superstars, Legends and Divas, view WWE Memorabilia, see live matches and hear a Q&As at the Main Ring, interact at the Kid Zone and Undertaker's Graveyard and much more to satisfy the appetites of new and seasoned WrestleMania fans.

Those who walk away from WrestleMania 29 on Sunday wanting more can come back to the IZOD Center the following night at the three-hour live taping of Monday Night Raw.

“We originally expected to host two of the events and that our co-host Manhattan, would provide venues for the other two,” said Jim Kirkos, chief executive officer for the Meadowlands Liberty Convention and Visitors Bureau (MLCVB). “We are gratified to host three of the four events in New Jersey, and we invite WrestleMania fans to enjoy the WWE events and take advantage of North Jersey’s hotels, restaurants and entertainment options while they are in the Meadowlands.”

The Meadowlands Complex is easily accessible by car and bus via New Jersey’s Turnpike and Parkway, and by train via regularly scheduled shuttles from New Jersey Transit’s Secaucus train station, making it an ideal location for WrestleMania fans in the tri-state area and beyond.
In addition to WrestleMania, the Greater Meadowlands region is also hosting Grand Prix racing in Weehawken in June 2013, and the Super Bowl in February 2014, highlighting the area’s ability to accommodate the close to a million fans who are expected to visit and boost the local economy in the next 18 months.
