Islamic Relief USA (IRUSA) announced today that it has been honored with a prestigious 2012 Top-Rated Award by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews about nonprofit organizations.
“We are excited to be named a Top-Rated 2012 Nonprofit,” said Abed Ayoub, CEO of IRUSA. "We are proud of our accomplishments this year, including assisting the American Red Cross and FEMA with Superstorm Sandy clean up efforts, as well as holding successful 'Day of Dignity' events in major cities across the country to feed the homeless."
The 2012 Top-Rated Nonprofit List was based on the large number of positive reviews that IRUSA received – reviews written by volunteers, donors and clients. People posted their personal experience with the nonprofit. For example, one person wrote, “Islamic Relief is present whenever a disaster strikes somewhere, pretty much a same day response. Their website is easy to use and very informative about the work they are doing on the ground. This is one of the best charitable organizations around, not only for disaster relief but also for the on-going support in some of the areas of the world that need it..”
"We are gratified by Islamic Relief USA for its work,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits, "They deserve to be discovered by more donors and volunteers who are looking for a great nonprofit to support."
