Naked Man Sets Fire: Aprehended By Paranmus Police

On 12/17/2012 at approximately 7:05am, Paramus Officers were dispatched to Eisele’s Nursery at 232 Oradell Avenue for a report of a fire . Upon arrival an employee of Eisele’s reported that there was a naked man in the shop area, and that he had started the fire. Officers were able to apprehend the man and extinguish the fire which caused minimal damage.
It was learned through investigation that the suspect, a 44 year old male from Lyndhurst NJ, had escaped from Bergen Regional Medical Center earlier. He had been reported missing from the hospital at approximately 3:30 am. He was brought back to Bergen Regional Medical Center for psychiatric evaluation. Paramus detectives are still investigation the arson.
