The Allendale Community For Mature Living Hosts Gala Event To Mark 45th Anniversary

Fundraiser Benefits Alzheimer’s Association Greater New Jersey Chapter. The Allendale Community for Mature Living recently celebrated its 45th Anniversary with a Gala and Fundraiser to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association Greater New Jersey Chapter. The milestone celebration held at the senior campus included a silent auction and was attended by a large number of distinguished guests from the community and the medical profession.

During the reception, Vice President Jolanta Giancarlo read a letter from Governor Chris Christie which congratulated the Allendale Community for its accomplishments over the years. “On behalf of the State of New Jersey, I applaud everyone associated with Allendale for their efforts to ensure that their residents’ golden years are as active and fulfilling as possible,” stated the Governor’s letter.

The evening also included a special proclamation by Mayor Vince Barra of Allendale. Dr. Hector Giancarlo, founder and president of The Allendale Community, was recognized as a senior housing pioneer in New Jersey. The proclamation acknowledged
the senior residence and its staff for contributing their experience, skills and knowledge to the greater good of the community.

“The Allendale Community for Mature Living, which was established in 1967 with The Allendale Nursing Home as its flagship, empowers all seniors to enhance their health, well-being and quality of life, as well as that of their fellow citizens of all ages,” stated Mayor Barra’s proclamation. “The Allendale Community serves as a nationwide model for a continuum of care campus where older adults can age in place, in one familiar location.”

President of the Allendale Chamber of Commerce Nicolette "Nickie" Lisella honored The Allendale Community and the work of Dr. Giancarlo with a certificate of appreciation for outstanding service to residents and their families. This recognition highlighted the organization’s role in the Borough of Allendale for the past 45 years and its contributions toward caring for the area’s older adults in their own community.

The night included musical entertainment by Noreko Kubo, and a special performance by famed 7-string guitar master John Paul “Bucky” Pizzarelli and guitarist Ed Laub. The duo are life-long North Jersey residents and previous guest performers at Allendale.

Proceeds from the Gala Fundraiser and Silent Auction will support local programs and services as well as fund research for the causes, treatments and prevention of Alzheimer's disease.

The Allendale Community pioneered modern-day eldercare and remains true to its founding roots as a private physician-owned and operated senior campus. The Community includes four full-service senior residences that offer a continuum of care, should a resident’s needs change: The Atrium Assisted Living; Carlton Court, a memory care neighborhood; The Allendale Nursing Home; and The Rehabilitation Center at The Allendale Community.

Located at 85 Harreton Rd. in Allendale, the senior campus is conveniently accessed via private driveway off of Route 17 South. For more information, please visit www.allendalecommunity.com .
