Paramus Police Officer Makes Traffic Stop; Discovers Marijuana

On 12/20/12 at 12:20 am, Paramus Police Officer Nicholas Luciano stopped a white Ford Mustang on Route 17 North near Midland Ave for a motor vehicle violation. P.O. Luciano discovered that the driver was only 17 and in violation of the State’s probationary driver program. Upon further investigation it was revealed that the rear seat passengers, identified as 19 year old Steven Marsh and 18 year old Edward Gannon Jr. both from Mahwah, were in possession of a large quantity of marijuana.
During the investigation, Mr. Gannon became combative by flailing his arms and reaching into his pockets. He was subsequently restrained by officers. Both Gannon and Marsh were placed under arrest and transported to Paramus Police Headquarters. They were charged with possession of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana over 50 grams. Mr. Gannon was also charged with disorderly conduct. Both parties were released on bail pending court appearance. The 17 year old driver was cited for motor vehicle violations, including violating the probationary drivers program.
