Blue Laws Work in Paramus It was a beautiful winter Sunday and www.Paramuspost.com decided to tour the new detour ring road and the shopping center as well of the Westfield Garden State Plaza Shopping Center. The parking lots were crowded by the AMC theaters and the various restaurants, but other than that, it was a naked skeleton. Proof that Blue Laws give the Borough of Paramus residents a one day respite!
Entering through Garden State Plaza Boulevard, one notices a flashing digital sign that informs the visitor that a parking garage is closed. Next, one comes to a detour for the new ring road travelling around the perimeter of the mall. This takes one closer to the Garden State Plaza Way road. It then wends its way back to the original perimeter road and back around the outer mall.
It seemed strange to see the vacant areas before the major stores and the new UniQlo. Then again, one could see vehicles parked before some of the many restaurants scattered around the shopping center. The AMC theaters parking areas were crowded showing that Paramus is an entertainment area as well as a shopping haven.
If this were a shopping day, one would have difficulty finding a parking space in the now abbreviated parking lots due to the closing of the one garage which will be demolished soon and rebuilt. It is a pleasure to travel in Paramus on a Sunday!
