New Jersey Hospital Association Appoints Van Dyk Health Care COO To 2013 Long Term Care Advisory Committee

Van Dyk Health Care, Inc. is pleased to announce that its chief operating officer (COO), Mary Jo Kurtz, has been appointed by the New Jersey Hospital Association (NJHA) to its 2013 Long-Term Care Advisory Committee. The NJHA, based in Princeton, is a statewide advocate for its 107 member hospitals, its 300-plus post-acute members and the patients they serve.

Kurtz is one of 18 long-term care facility leaders chosen by the NJHA to serve as representatives for its members.
The 2013 Long Term Care Advisory Committee works together to determine priorities in the areas of advocacy, education and quality, as well as acts as a sounding board for ideas and legislative, reimbursement and policy positions. The Committee also closely monitors activity in Washington and Trenton throughout the year. With nearly 370 certified Medicare and Medicaid nursing homes in New Jersey, the challenges of healthcare reform impacting care across the NJHA and with the changing tide in Washington, D.C., and Trenton, the organization anticipates that 2013 will be one of long-term care’s busiest years ever.

Kurtz also serves the industry in many other capacities, including the American Health Care Association (AHCA) Survey & Regulatory committee and QAPI sub-committee; Health Care Association of New Jersey (HCANJ) Assisted Living Council Board Member; the NJ Department of Health Culture Change committee; Bergen County Regional Medical Center Community Oversight Board, serving as Chairperson of Long-Term Care Sub Committee; Bergen County Human Services Advisory Council, serving on the Executive Committee; National Council on Aging; and is a member of the New Jersey League for Nursing. She is the recipient of many industry awards and the author of numerous published articles and presentations.
