The Village Voice's Sixth Annual Tasting Event "Choice Eats" Announces Second Round Of Participating Restaurants

The Village Voice's sixth annual tasting event, "Choice Eats," announces a second round participating restaurants today. 10 additional restaurants that will be represented at this year's "Choice Eats" are: Butter and Scotch, Joe Dough, Kuma Inn, Lucky 777 Chili, Maima's Liberian Bistro, Mexico Lindo, Spicy Bampa, The Meatball Shop, Thirty Acres, and Xe May Sandwich Shop. These restaurants will join previously announced restaurants: Bobwhite Lunch and Supper Counter, Black Shack Burger, Brooklyn Kolache, Buka, Dirt Candy, John Brown Smokehouse, Kaia Wine Bar, Littleneck, Luke's Lobster, Mable's Smokehouse & Banquet Hall, Mooncake Foods, No. 7., Parish Hall, Txikito, and Zenon Taverna. More restaurants to be announced soon.
VIP tickets for Choice Eats sold out in under thirty minutes since going on sale last Tuesday, January 15th and only a limited number of General Admission tickets are still available.
"Choice Eats" 2013 will take place on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 from 6:30 - 9:30 PM at the 69th Armory on Lexington Avenue. This beloved annual foodie event boasts 50+ of NYC's most sought after restaurants from over 35 nations in New York's five boroughs - all under one roof. Each of this year's participating restaurants have been handpicked by Village Voice resident food critics Robert Sietsema and Tejal Rao.
Ticket prices for this year's "Choice Eats" event feature a VIP ($80) and General Admission ($50) Ticket. General Admission ticket holders will receive complimentary food and dessert tasting, craft beer pairings, wine & liquor beverages, and entertainment throughout the night. Back by popular demand, the VIP experience allows guests to skip the line and gain entrance to an exclusive "Choice Eats" VIP tasting at 5:30 PM, one hour before the main event starts. The VIP tasting will feature pre-dinner drinks, private sampling, a culinary demonstration and a special VIP gift bag.
Returning back this year, "Choice Eats" will allow all ticketholders, to enjoy dessert offerings in the "Choice Sweets" tasting throughout the evening. Choice Sweets restaurants will be featured in the main tasting hall for GA ticketholders as well as in a private Choice Sweets VIP tasting room open exclusively to VIP ticketholders during the event's final hour. Over a dozen desserts curated by The Village Voice will make their debut.
The Village Voice will once again partner with the non-profit organization Slow Food NYC for the event and plan to donate a portion of ticket sales. Sponsors of the 2013 Choice Eats Tasting Event are Whole Foods Market, Stella Artois, Southern Wines & Spirits, Great Brewers, Alphabet City Brewing Company, Abita, Blue Point Brewing Company, Bronx Brewery, Crabbie's, Lagunitas Brewing Company, Brewery Ommegang, Oskar Blues Brewery, Sierra Nevada, Sixpoint Brewery, Smuttynose Brewing Co. and Victory Brewing Company.
