State Senator and Democratic gubernatorial candidate Barbara Buono today thanked Senate President Stephen Sweeney, the legislative delegation and the seven county chairs from South Jersey for their support of her campaign. They join Democrats from across New Jersey who have announced their support for Buono for Governor this week.
“I’m honored to have the support of Senate President Sweeney and community leaders from across South Jersey,” Buono said. “I’ve been proud to stand with President Sweeney as he’s led the fight to put New Jerseyans back to work and raise the minimum wage for working families struggling to get by. From spurring the development of New Jersey’s clean energy industry to championing marriage equality, President Sweeney has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of all New Jerseyans.
“Today, I want to thank these community leaders and Democrats from across New Jersey for their commitment to end Governor Christie’s failed policies and bring progressive change to Trenton. Time and again we’ve fought side-by-side to stop the Governor’s handouts to millionaires and reckless cuts to education and health services that hurt New Jersey’s middle class and jeopardize our future. Together, we’re going to grow this grassroots campaign and hold Governor Christie accountable for his dismal record.”
