Stay Connected During Severe Weather Events

PSE&G's electric system is operating normally following yesterday's snowstorm. Large amounts of snow fell in parts of our service territory, but fortunately, winds were not as severe as anticipated. Our employees and our system performed well.
Now is a good time to think about storm preparedness going forward.
We continue to work to enhance our communications with customers during emergency and outage events. You receive these email updates because we have your email address. Please encourage your friends and family who have not provided their email address to us to do so to allow them to stay connected with us during future severe weather events. All they need to do is register for My Account at pseg.com and provide their email address. Once registered, they will receive email storm updates, plus receive our monthly electronic newsletter and be able to conduct their PSE&G business online including viewing bills, scheduling service appointments and reporting outages online.
Be sure to have PSE&G's contact information handy so you know how to reach us. PSE&G's Customer Service number is 1-800-436-PSEG. We use an automated system to handle customer calls as efficiently as possible. Customers who get an automated response when calling PSE&G are encouraged to use it, as it is designed to route their calls to the right destination quickly. The system also provides the option to speak directly to a customer service representative. If you have specific information regarding damage to wires, transformers or poles, we ask that you speak with a representative to provide that information.
Customers with a handheld device during an outage, or who are at an alternate location with power, can also report power outages and view the status of their outage by logging in to My Account at pseg.com. General outage activity throughout our service territory is available online at www.pseg.com/outagecenter and updates are posted on www.pseg.com during severe weather.
Also it's wise to have an emergency kit on hand year round, including:
• A battery powered radio.
• A corded telephone (cordless phones will not work if the power is out)
• Flashlights and extra fresh batteries.
• A first-aid kit.
• Bottled water and an adequate supply of non-perishable food.
• A non-electric can opener.
• Extra blankets and sleeping bags.

Thank you for being a PSE&G customer.
