Statement from Nita Chaudhary, Co-Founder of UltraViolet:
"Tonight Marco Rubio, the so-called savior of the Republican Party, will stand before the nation and try to offer a glimpse into the newly re-branded Republican Party. But in politics, and in life, actions speak louder than words and Rubio's vote this afternoon, a mere hours before his big primetime address, against the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) tells you everything you need to know about Marco Rubio and the Republican Party.
"Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women—more than car accidents, muggings, and rapes combined. Three women die every single day as a result of domestic violence. And VAWA has helped save countless lives and helped reduce violence. Today's vote by Rubio, and the actions of his Republicans colleagues in the House, has put millions of women at risk. Don't be fooled by any soft rhetoric tonight. Rubio and the Republican Party have not learned the lesson of the 2012 election and their War on Women wages on and knows no bounds."
