A new study by dating website, SeekingArrangement.com, revealed that on average a man needs to shell out $218 to “get lucky” on Valentine’s Day.
Valentine’s Day was a holiday created for women, everything from chocolate hearts to pink and red cards leaves women with a heightened sensitivity to romance. It’s no secret that men look to capitalize on their vulnerability in hopes of entering a new relationship, or get rewarded with lovemaking.
SeekingArrangement.com collected data from 9,000 women based on their last 3 Valentine’s Day dates to determine the perfect price a man should spend. The website then surveyed 8,300 men and found that 77% go on Valentine’s Day dates as a means of entering a new relationship or, for both those in relationships and singletons, to get rewarded with lovemaking.
In addition, the study revealed on average how much married, single, and committed men spend during this holiday:
Marital Status – Average Spent on V-day –Where They Spent Most
Single: $257: Dinner or Activity
Married: $203: Presents
Committed a Relationship: $180: Presents
Additional findings of the SeekingArrangement.com Valentine’s Day study included poll results on 2013’s most popular: presents among women, dinner locations, and activities.
